Welcome to Sharks Basketball Club, a proud member of the Geelong Basketball League, with over 900 active participants across 105 teams. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, we have a team for you!​

Teams for All Ages and Abilities

At Sharks Basketball Club, we offer teams for boys, girls, men, and women across various age groups and skill levels. From U8s to seniors, our club is committed to providing a fun and competitive environment for everyone.​​​​​​​​​​​​

Cost of Playing Basketball

Before committing to the club, it's essential to understand the associated costs of playing in the Geelong United Basketball League. The fees are as follows:

  • Basketball Australia Game Development Levy: $5.50 per annum

  • Basketball Victoria Participant Licence: Juniors $32 per annum & Seniors $46 per annum

  • Geelong United Registration Fee: $71.50 per season

  • Sharks Basketball Club Fee:  Juniors $50 per season, Seniors $60 per season. 

The Shark Basketball Club fee covers training facility costs, competition fees (team entry, fines, etc.), and presentation day.

  • Geelong United Game Fee: $13.48 (Paid at every game played)

  • Sharks Basketball Club Uniform: $90 (one-off fee for a reversible singlet & shorts)

Season Information

Basketball at Sharks Basketball Club is played year-round, aligning with the school terms. Whether you're looking to join for the Summer or Winter season, there's always an opportunity to get on the court.

  • Summer Season: October to March

  • Winter Season: April to September

Game Locations

Games are primarily held at the following venues:

  • Beyond Bank Stadium, Belmont

  • The Geelong Arena, North Geelong

  • Leisuretime Sports Precinct, Corio

  • Grovedale College

  • Oberon High School

Training Schedule

Training sessions are held at The Geelong Arena (110 Victoria Street, North Geelong) on Sundays. The training times vary according to the age group. See the current training schedule for more information.
