Welcome to Sharks Basketball Club, a proud member of the Geelong Basketball League, with over 800 active players across 95 teams. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, we have a team for you!

Teams for All Ages and Abilities

At Sharks Basketball Club, we offer teams for boys, girls, men, and women across various age groups and skill levels. From U8s to seniors, our club is committed to providing a fun and competitive environment for everyone.

Cost of Playing Basketball

Before committing to the club, it's essential to understand the associated costs of playing in the Geelong United Basketball League. The fees are as follows:

• Basketball Australia Game Development Levy: $5.50 per annum

• Basketball Victoria Participant Licence: $29 per annum

• Geelong United Registration Fee: $71.50 per season

• Sharks Basketball Club Fee:  Juniors $50 per season, Seniors $60 per season. 

The Shark Basketball Club fee covers training facility costs, competition fees (team entry, fines, etc.), and presentation day.

• Geelong United Game Fee: $13.48 (Paid at every game played)

• Sharks Basketball Club Uniform: $90 (one-off fee for a reversible singlet & shorts)

How to Join a Team

New Players
If you're new to Sharks Basketball Club and looking to join for the first time, please contact Paul Bugg (Senior Players) or Daniel Willmott (Junior Players). This will help us find the best team for you based on your age, skill level, and availability.​

Returning Players
If you're a returning player, welcome back! Please register for the upcoming season by completing your registration here. **Summer 2024/25 Registration Season opening soon**

Aussie Hoopers and Jumpstarters

If you have been part of one of Sharks Programs and are ready to join a team. Please register for the season by completing your registration here. **Summer 2024/25 Registration Season opening soon**

Season Information

Basketball at Sharks Basketball Club is played year-round, aligning with the school terms. Whether you're looking to join for the Summer or Winter season, there's always an opportunity to get on the court.

• Summer Season: October to March

• Winter Season: April to September

Our junior program is designed to nurture young talent, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and fostering a love for the game. Teams are available in the following age groups:

• U8's: Born 2018 - 2019

• U10's: Born 2016 - 2017

• U12's: Born 2014 - 2015

• U14's: Born 2012 - 2013

• U16's: Born 2010 - 2011

• U18's (Boys Only): Born 2008 - 2009

• U19's (Girls Only): Born 2007 -2009

• U20's: Born 2006 - 2007

• U23's (Boys Only): Born 2003 -2005
