Wow — what a night!
On Saturday, May 3rd, the Geelong Arena was full of smiles and a whole lot of love for Sharks Basketball. Our Life Member and Hall of Fame Induction Night brought together past and present members of the Sharks family to celebrate the amazing people who’ve helped shape our club over the years.
Let’s start with a huge congratulations to our newest Life Members:
Amy Clarke
Craig Jarvis
Justin Horrobin
These legends have been absolute pillars of the club, and it was awesome to finally give them the recognition they deserve.
We also welcomed 16 new Hall of Fame inductees — people who’ve made a big impact in different areas of Sharks Basketball:
🎯 Players:
Ben Gray
David McCartney
Lliam Sell
Matthew Moore
Nick Maikantis
Taylor Henderson
📣 Coaches:
Andre Brohier
Brandon Dawber
John Young
Nigel King
Wayne Clarke
📝 Admins & Club Contributors:
Angela Horrobin
Katie Terpstra
Laura Willmott
Daniel Willmott
Neil McKenzie
Each one of them has played a huge part in making our club what it is today — whether they were hitting threes, calling plays, or keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
A special highlight of the evening was a tribute presentation to Alex Duck and Georgia Varley — two absolute stars who’ve been key players in all 11 of our women’s championship wins. Their commitment over the past decade is nothing short of amazing, and we couldn’t be prouder to have them as part of our Sharks family.
The whole night was just packed with good vibes — great stories, well-deserved recognition, and lots of laughs (and maybe a few happy tears too).
Massive thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Events like this remind us just how lucky we are to be part of such a strong, supportive, and passionate community.
Here’s to the legends who built this club — and the future legends coming up next. 💙
