Calling all young ballers aged 4–10 years — it’s time to lace up your runners and head to the court! The Rex Gorrell Ford Sharks Aussie Hoops program is launching its next term at The Geelong Arena, and it’s the perfect opportunity for kids to learn basketball in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment.

🎉 What Is Aussie Hoops?

Aussie Hoops is the official introductory basketball program designed for kids of all abilities — including those who have never touched a ball before. The focus is on:

Fun, confidence building & skill development
Fundamental movements like dribbling, passing and shooting
Teamwork and modified games tailored to young players
Making new friends and loving the game!

This national initiative supports children as they begin their basketball journey, giving them a positive experience in sport right from the start.

Term 1 Details – Mark Your Calendar!

Here’s the key info for the upcoming season:

📍 Location: The Geelong Arena (Baxter Road Entrance)

🗓 Start Date: Sunday, 15 February

⏰ Time: 8:30am to 9.15am Sundays

💲 Cost: $40 per participant (for the term) + pack (optional)

📌 What to Bring: Drink bottle, comfy runners, and plenty of smiles!

Spots are limited, so be sure to register early!

How Aussie Hoops Works

Kids are grouped by age and development stage so everyone gets the right level of challenge:

Rookies (4–6 years): Focus on movement, body coordination and basic ball skills.
Future Stars (6–8 years): Building on dribbling, passing, shooting fundamentals and teamwork.
All Stars (8–10 years): Skills expansion, game awareness and preparation for junior domestic competition.
