Kerr's Hire Champ Women - Preliminary Final Preview

Sharks Walking Wounded

Well, its been a long time since Sharks Championship women have found themselves in such a precarious position - Prelim Final time. Our girls are tough, no doubt. It was way back in 2017 when our girls didn’t take home the chocolates.

But the girls have their backs to the wall this year. Ducky, who has been the rock for our amazing run, injured. Steph Curtis with a poorly timed trip overseas and Kate Duff recovering from a hip operation, we will be likely to have 3 key players out.

Needing to win this week against the up and coming Wildcats team, who have a handy line up, including NBL1W player Sarah Elsworthy, it will be a tough outing if our girls are to make the Grand Final this season. With Georgia Varley, Ebony Rolph, Ebony Coppock, Emily Prior, Alex Trezise, and under 16 young gun Abbe Dunn going to line up for us, Coach Bugg thinks the girls can get the job done, but are going to need some good team defense to slow the opposition down. Our Sharks girls will need to be at their best to get the job done. Buggman thinks Emily will be on a high after the Cats win on the weekend, and will have a big game to keep that momentum rolling. When talking, he had a role for all of the girls, with Georgia Varley needing to have a big game to help get us over the line. Timing is everything they say. Up until last week our Champ Womens team were undefeated this season.

Now is a great time to get down and chee rthem on, give them that little edge that could be needed in the dying minutes of an expected tough game. Get down to AWA at 7PM Tuesday night to support the girls! Help them get back to another Grand Final where we all know anything can happen!

Go Sharks, and good luck girls!
