The Sharks Basketball Club Committee has endorsed a new approach for the upcoming Summer 2025/26 season: registration caps by age group and gender.
This change will help us:
Manage Sunday training capacity at the Arena.
Keep teams well-supported with coaches.
Ensure balanced teams and plenty of court time for every player.
Avoid last-minute scheduling headaches.

What’s Changing
For this season, the following player limits will apply:
Age Group & Gender | Max Teams | Max Players |
U10 Boys | 15 | 120 |
U12 Boys | 15 | 120 |
U14 Boys | 15 | 120 |
All Other Age/Gender | 10 | 80 |
U10, U12 & U14 Boys have a higher number of teams/players - as current numbers already exceed the 10/80 limit.
Once the cap is reached, players will be placed on a waitlist. We’ll then look for overflow options, including partnering with other clubs where possible.
Why We’re Doing This
Our Sunday training sessions are close to full capacity, and some age groups are growing rapidly. These limits will make sure:
We don’t exceed available court space.
We keep coach-to-player ratios manageable.
Players get quality training and game time.
Registrations are completed early, avoiding last-minute stress.
What You Need to Do
Register early – spots will go quickly, especially in our larger age groups.
If your age group is full, join the waitlist so we can contact you if a place opens.
